Claudio Capelli has claimed the Switzerland's lone men's berth for the London Olympics. This will be the second Olympics for Claudio, who competed at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He was supposed to compete at an internal match in Magglingen on the 30th of June to see who would receive the spot, himself or Pascal Bucher. However, this match became obsolete as Bucher saw no way that he could catch up and recover the form required to win due to his ongoing shoulder problems and as a result withdrew from the Olympic Selection process.
