The first day of event finals for the 5th Senior Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships were held  yesterday in Putian, China. Women's Vault and Uneven Bars as well as Men's Floor Exercise, Pommel Horse were contested. Vietnam's PHAN Thi Ha Thanh won the Vault title over the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's HONG Un Jong and RI Un Ha who were second and third respectively. HONG Un Jong withdrew from the Uneven Bars final but was not replaced, whilst the title went to China's WU Liufang who won over her compatriot HUANG Huidan and SUNG Ji Hye of the Republic of Korea. 

The Men's Floor Exercise final went to Japan's Shirai Kenzo who won over the Republic of Korea's KIM Hansol and LEE Junho. China's LIU Rongbing was top on the Pommel Horse with compatriot JI Lianshen and Japan's Yoshiaki Furutani sharing the silver medal. On the Still Rings, RI Se Gwang (PRK) won gold over China's YANG Shengchao, with Hong Kong's Kiu Chung Ng and Chinese Taipei's Chih-Yu Chen shared the bronze medal.

The Fifth Senior Artistic Gymnastics Asian Championships are set to take place from the 11th to the 14th November in Putian, China. The Drawing of Lots took place on the 16th of October in Doha, Qatar, at the Head Quarters of the Asian Gymnastics Union (AGU), with a total of 128 athletes expected to descend on Putian - 80 Men's Artistic Gymnasts and 48 Women's Artistic Gymnasts. This is set to be a fantastic competition, even without looking at the nominated participants, as this is the first competition back since The People's Democratic of Korea was suspended for age falsification. Uzbekistan's Darya Yelizarova was expected to compete but she has been withdrawn.

The 2012 Junior Artistic and Trampoline Gymnastics Asian Championships, will be taking place from March 11th to 15th in the Suphanburi Province of Thailand. A massive eighteen nations have registered to participate, marking a total of 348 participants with the competition being held at Suphanburi Sports School. Men's Artistic Gymnasts will be aged between 14 to 18 years old (1994-1998), and Females born between 13 and 15 years old (1997 to 1999). And both Men and Women Trampoline competitors aged between 13 and 17 years old (1995 to 1999).
