MUSTAFINA OUT! DEMENTYEVA SUCCEEDS!

OMG THE RUSSIAN FAVOURITE, ALIYA MUSTAFINA IS OUT OF THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS. The favourite to take out the All Around title and a contender for all four event finals injured her knee during last night's all around final. It all went down during the first rotation where the highest qualifiers were on vault... she stood up her Yurchenko 2.5 but then collapsed to the ground clutching her left knee. She left in a wheelchair and headed straight to the hospital for tests.


As Aliya is our, it opens the door for the following gymnasts Belgian Julie Croket to compete in the Vault final, Great Britain's Hannah Whelan to compete in the Bars final, Polish star Marta Pihan-Kulesza to rock it on Balance Beam and Germany's own Nadine Jarosch will appear in the Floor final.


Now onto the other news of the night... in Mustafina's absence, her compatriot Anna Dementyeva, who I absolutely adore took out the title of the European All Around Champion. German upandcomer Elisabeth Seitz took out the silver and Elena Amelia Racea of Romania took out the Bronze. Dementyeva topped score on Balance Beam (15.150), Aliya Mustafina scored the highest mark on the Vault, the event that she injured herself on tying with Swiss Upandcomer Giulia Steingruber with 15.375, German Elisabeth Seitz rocked the Uneven Bars with 14.725 and Romanian Diana Maria Chelaru stole the show on the Floor Exercise with 14.550.
