On the Seventh Day of Christmas, Gymnastics Brought to Me: A Czech Republic Superstar!!

It's been an insanely busy year for Czech Gymnast Kristyna Palesova! And I cannot wait to see what 2012 has in store for this exciting gymnast who is also a 2008 Olympian and who will be hoping to qualify to her second Olympics during the upcoming Olympic Test Event. At the European Championships, she finished 35th in the All Around (51.000), finishing 15th on the Uneven Bars (13.625), 42nd on the Balance Beam (12.550) and 51st on the Floor Exercise, having scored 12.100. She finished sixth on the Uneven Bars at the Cottbus World Cup event, with 13.875. Then at the Salamun Memorial/Maribor World Cup event, she finished with a very successful first place on the Uneven Bars (13.750), 4th on Beam (13.300) and 6th on the Floor Exercise (12.250). Kristyna then competed at the Czech National Championships, taking the title with a score of 53.750, second on Bars (13.250), first on Balance Beam (13.550) and first on Floor Exercise (13.350). Palesova achieved 5th place in the All Around at the World University Games, scoring 53.400, and was seventh on the Uneven Bars (12.950). At the 2011 World Championships, she placed 58th All Around (52.323), repeating that ranking on the Uneven Bars (13.166), and was 78th on the Balance Beam (13.033) and 82nd on the Floor Exercise (12.800). And she rounded up the competitive season in Ostrava, with the local favourite finishing third on the Uneven Bars (13.575), fifth on Beam (12.600) and sixth on the Floor Exercise (12.075). She also competes in the  German Bundesliga or German Club League for TG Karlsruhe-Sollingen. Above video of her 1st place Uneven Bars routines from Maribor courtesy of Youtube user 2008agwc.
