The Great British contingent of Daniel Keatings, Ruslan Panteleymonov, Louis Smith, Daniel Purvis and Max Whitlock have made history for their nation - winning their first major championships team gold medal. What bodes very well for their Olympics campaign, Britain won the competition by 0.761 from Russia, with Romania taking out the bronze medal. Highest scorers on each event, were: Thomas on Floor Exercise (15.358), Smith on Pommel Horse (15.833), Russian Aleksandr Balandin on the Still Rings (15.400), Romanian Flavius Koczi on the Vault with a 16.133, Hamilton Sabot of France on the Parallel Bars (15.333) and Emin Garibov of Russia on the Horizontal Bar (15.766). Poor Gael Da Silva of France crashed his Dragulescu vault scoring a 0.000 and will undergo an MRI today to see if he has sustained any ligament damage. Fellow Frenchman Cyril Tommasone also scored a 0.000 on the Horizontal Bar, unsure as to what happened there though.
