Russia Did It Again

The Russian Rhythmic Group has taken out the Group All Around final for the fourth consecutive Olympics.With the highest marks with both the 5 Balls and 3 Ribbons and two Hoops, the Group consisting of Anastasia Bliznyuk, Uliana Donskova, Ksenia Dudkina, Alina Makarenko, Anastasia Nazarenko and Karolina Sevastyanova won by a comfortable margin of 1.5 points over the second placed Belarus with the Italian Group finishing with the bronze medal. The competition saw repeat Olympians from Belarus (Nastassia Ivankova, Kseniya Sankovich and Alina Tumilovich) and Italian Anzhelika Savrayuk who all competed at the 2008 Olympics, and Italy's three time Olympians Elisa Blanchi and Elisa Santoni  (2004, 2008 and 2012) all end up on the medal podium. The Spanish group finished in fourth, whilst a tie-break situation occurred for the fifth and sixth placings with Ukraine topping Bulgaria as they had the higher  combined total of the execution scores.
