Gwangju Universiade WAG/MAG Event Finals

11:55 PM

Welcome to the final day of Artistic Gymnastics competition from the Kwangju Women's University Universiade Gymnasium. Japan's Naoto Hayasaka dominated the Men's Floor Exercise Final, taking the title convincingly over Ukraine's Oleg Verniaiev. Shogo Nonomura of Japan and Switzerland's Marco Walter tied for the bronze medal. Austria's Simone Penker comes into the Vault final to replace New Zealand's Jordan Rae. Lovely purple leotard with diamantes for Tan Ing Yueh. Huge wait in between Vaults. Red and white leotard with diamantes for Daria Yelizarova - awesome Vaults. Fall for Severin Rohrer. One black mesh sleeve, and half emeraldy green and the remaining top and sleeve a light green with diamantes for Dilnoza Abdusalimova. Great routine from Donothan Bailey. Lovely Black and White leotard with a white mesh sleeve for Maria Paseka. Elegant red leotard with diamantes for Kelly Simm. Shogo Nonomura loses momentum and comes off the Pommel Horse. Gorgeous green leotard with white swirl patterning and red for Mexico's Mariana Vazquez Beristain. Lands on her back on her second vault. Lovely red leotard with white sleeves and red stripes down the sleeves and diamantes for Simone Penker. American Donothan Bailey wins the Pommel Horse title over Hayasaka with fellow American Akash Modi finishing third. Russian Maria Paseka takes the Vault honors over Kelly Simm and Yelizarova. The first Vault score of Farah Ann Abdul Hadi has yet to be recorded.

Georgia-Rose Brown wears the purple and black leotard with silver patterning/diamantes. The Republic of Korea gymnasts are in the leotards that I am loving! Ana Filipa Martins wears a half red/half white leotard wit gold and green ribbons across the front. The Malaysian contingent always looks so happy - always smiling. Fall for Azizbek Kudratullayev. Lovely routine from Martins. HEO Seon Mi takes a couple of steps back and sits down her dismount. Black leotard with white diamantes and orange patterning with a hint of white for Asuka Teramoto. Red leotard with diamantes and white collaring and down the sides as stripes for Kramarenko. Kramarenko earns the Uneven Bars honors over Teramoto and Paseka, whilst on the Still Rings Armenia's Artur Tovmasyan wins over Ukraine's Igor Radivilov and Oleg Verniaiev who finished second and third respectively. Watching the Award Ceremonies and had to have a small giggle over Verniaiev stopping to take a selfie with Tovmasyan and Radivilov!

Volodymyr Okachev of Ukraine is set to replace LEE Hyeokjung of the Republic of Korea in the Parallel Bars final, whilst Frenchman Antoine Borello is set to compete in the Horizontal Bar Final. Finals continue at 4.00pm (Gwangju Local Time).

And we are back!

Listening to the Eurosport commentators having problems pronouncing Donothan. Tomi Tuuha - Tsukahara 2.5 - hop to the side; Handspring double twist - hop to the side. Another gorgeous Republic of Korean leotard for PARK Jisoo - Fall on her double spin and crashed her double pike dismount. Igor Radivilov - Dynamic double front with half turn with step back on landing; Massive hop back on his second Vault. EUM Dayeon also falls on her double spin - a real shame because it was a lovely routine. Heikki Saarenketo - solid Tsukahara 2.5, looked like he locked his legs on the landing; an okay second Vault - just a step back. Emma Jane Nedov wears the purple and black leotard - nice save on opening acro series but falls on her second acro series, bit hop back on double pike dismount. Mikhail Kudashov - crashes his first Vault; he looks dejected or a bit pensive heading into his second Vault. Tsukahara double - solid but low in the landing and big step backwards. Natsumi Sasada wears a black leotard with flames (red to orange) - three falls. Very disappointing. Ferhat Arican - Tsukahara 2.5 for first Vault. Sleeveless purple leotard with pink for Dilnoza Abdusalimova - massive bobble but solid performance. Great vaults for HUANG Xi. A couple of bobbles for Polina Fedorova but a good routine (wears the green and black leotard). Super routine from Yu Minobe. China's CEN Yu takes the Men's Vault title over Ukraine's Igor Radivilov and Oleg Verniaiev. Whilst on the Balance Beam, Japan's Yu Minobe triumphed over Polina Fedorova of Russia and Ana Filipa Martins of Portugal who finished second and third respectively.

And my internet connection chose that moment to have issues! Uzbekistan's Dilnoza Abdusalimova replaced PARK Jisoo in the Floor Final. Polina Fedorova of Russia triumphed over compatriot Daria Yelizarova and Kelly Simm to take the Floor title. Oleg Verniaiev of Ukraine won the Parallel Bars honor over Japan's Yuya Kamoto and Chihiro Yoshioka whilst on the Horizontal Bar, Germany's Fabian Hambuechen topped Japan's Shogo Nonomura and Kamoto.
