Canadian starlet Christine Lee!
Thanks to Youtube user chino470 for uploading this video of Lee's awesome Beam Routine from Acapulco! It's been quite a year for Canadian gymnast Christine "Peng Peng" Lee! In March this year, Peng Peng came 5th on the Uneven Bars (11.900), 6th on the Balance Beam (12.250) and 5th on Floor Exercise (13.100). A welcome comeback for the incredible gymnast who was out of competition for almost two years with a back injury. She returned at the 2010 Elite Canada competition in December where she topped the All Around with a score of 54.800, came 8th on the Uneven Bars (11.000), 2nd on the Balance Beam (14.250) and tied for 2nd on Floor Exercise with fellow Oakville Gymnastics Club teammate Jessica Savona with a score of 13.850. Christine then participated in the International Gymnix Challenge in Montreal where she came 4th in the All Around, and was 8th on Uneven Bars and 4th on the Floor Exercise. Missing out on the 2011 Canadian National Championships due to dislocating her kneecap during training of her new vault - a Yurchenko double twist. Although many were worried about how this would affect her World Championships campaign, but Lee had a great meet - she qualified to the All Around final where she finished 19th (with a score of 54.732) and ended up 30th on Uneven Bars (13.800), 58th on Balance Beam (13.466) and 32nd on the Floor Exercise (13.633). She then travelled with the Canadian contingent to the Pan American Games in Guadalajara where the team won the silver medal, and she came 4th in the All Around (54.575), and 5th on the Uneven Bars (13.575). Most recently she participated at the Abierto de Gimnasia in Acapulco. Finishing second All Around with a score of 55.500 behind Russian Ksenia Afanasyeva, Lee's score was added to her pair's score to clinch the Pair's Title with American Danell Leyva.
