So 7 of the gymnasts to represent Germany at the Olympics have been named - I knew it yesterday after translating an article on the official German site, however I looked everywhere and I couldn't see any mention of it, that is until today. For the women Oksana Chusovitina, Marie-Sophie Hindermann and Katja Abel will compete and for the men Fabian Hambuchen, Philipp Boy, Marcel Nguyen and Eugen Spiridonov have booked their tickets. The remaining spots will be announced on Tuesday. Personally, I am quite happy with these 7 and I don't think there was ever any doubt that Hambuchen and Chusovitina were going to be representing their country.

Some news for you:
Salem News Online has an article on Corrie Lothrop that you can find here.

There's a short little piece on Elyse Hopfner-Hibbs that just skims over the details that they found important. Click here to read the article.

Okay so I finally got to read the article from Yahoo! on Chusovitina (look here) and was excited to see that her goal is to keep going until the London Olympics!

Shannon Miller was inducted into the International Women's Sports Hall of Fame and has donated her 1995 Gymnastics Uniform from the US trials (shouldn't it be 1996?) along with the affirmations from her mother that she kept in her bag. Read who else has been inducted here.

Stanford has announced 2 new additions to the Class of 2012 adding Jenny Peter and Allie Skoly to join SWG in the fall of this year. They will join Alyssa Brown, Catherine Nguyen, Nicole Pechanec, and Lenika De Simone. Read this piece to find out more.

NBC 10 has a piece on Shawn Johnson and her aim to follow in the footsteps of Mary Lou Retton and Carly Patterson. It's quite short but I am glad to see that all Shawn wants to do is "go out this year and have the time of my life". So cute - read it here.
