Gabrielle Douglas (Chow's Gymnastics and Dance Institute) and Christopher Brooks (Cypress Academy of Gymnastics) have been named as the United States of America's alternates for the 2012 edition of the AT&T American Cup. This means that they can compete hors concours (outside of competition) meaning that the two may perform exhibition routines, where they will compete first on each apparatus and while they still will get scored their totals will not be included as part of the official event results.
