2008 Olympian Sherine Ahmed El Zeiny of Egypt is headed to the 2012 London Olympics. Added to the Qualifier List last week, El Zeiny, replaces Ashleigh Heldsinger of South Africa as a recipient of a Continental Participation place. At the 2011 World Championships, Sherine came 135th All Around with a score of 44.574, 172nd on the Uneven Bars (9.533), 145th on the Balance Beam (11.700) and 183rd on the Floor Exercise (10.641). Good luck to Sherine!! And commiserations to Ashleigh and her coach Ilse Laing, but here is hoping they continue on into the foreseeable future.
