University of Michigan Sophomore Samuel Mikulak, who will be competing in Seattle at the 2012 Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships this weekend, has been named the National Gymnast of the Week today after his performance against the University of Oklahoma on the 10th of March. Mikulak took the All Around title and was first on three events. Sam won the Parallel Bars (15.900), Horizontal Bar (15.250), and Pommel Horse (14.600), was third on the Still Rings (14.950) and Floor Exercise (15.200), and fourth on the vault (15.600), plus scored 90.300 in the All Around, outscoring the Nation's top All Arounder Jacob Dalton. This is the third time that Sam Mikulak has won the award - which is sponsored by the College Gymnastics Association - the first was in his Freshman year on April 20th after becoming the fourth Wolverine to win the NCAA All Around title in the program's history and also won the title of the National Gymnast of the Year, earlier this year,on February 22nd this year.
