Okay I think my life is finally beginning to slow down.... and now begins the onslaught of 2013 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships catch up posts.

Yesterday (6th of October) saw the final day of competition at the 2013 World Championships in Antwerp, Belgium. Finals were contested on the Women's Balance Beam and Floor Exercise and the Men's Vault, Parallel Bars and Horizontal Bar. Narrowly taking out the Balance Beam title was Russia's Aliya Mustafina who triumphed by 0.067 of a point over Kyla Ross of the United States of America. Fellow American Simone Biles picked up the bronze. Biles dominated on the Floor Exercise with Italian stalwart Vanessa Ferrari picking up the silver medal and Romanian Larisa Andreea Iordache earning the bronze. Olympic Vault Champion YANG Hak Seon of South Korea earned the honors on his pet event with two of the most deserving gymnasts Steven Legendre of the United States and Kristian Thomas of Great Britain rounding out the top three. China's LIN Chaopan and Kohei Uchimura of Japan were inseparable on the Parallel Bars and both ended up sharing the title. American John Orozco won a well deserved bronze medal, less than a year after tearing his ACL. Dutchman Epke Zonderland performed his massive 7.7 difficulty routine on the Horizontal Bar to the delight of crowd and received the event title for his efforts. Germany's Fabian Hambuechen and Uchimura finished second and third respectively.
