Day Two of competition at the Toyota International Gymnastics Invitational is underway. Korea's KIM Hee Hoon has picked up the Vault title with Vietnam's HOANG Cuong finishing second with PARK Eo Jin of Korea rounding out the top three. Japan's Natsumi Sasada won the Balance Beam title, dominating the event over Canadian Victoria Moors with Yu Minobe earning the bronze. Kohei Uchimura topped compatriot Ryohei Kato and Germany's Marcel Nguyen for the Parallel Bars honors, whilst on the Women's Floor Exercise, Moors dominated over Pia Tolle. Sasada earned the bronze medal. Special mention must go to Open Competitor Yuki Uchiyama whose exhibition performance earned the third highest score on the apparatus. Uchimura won the Horizontal Bar with Germany's Andreas Toba earning the silver. Bronze went to Korea's PARK Eo Jin.

Japanese gymnasts picked up two titles on the first day of the Toyota International Gymnastics Invitational which was contested yesterday in Toyota, Japan. Kenzo Shirai dominated on the Floor Exercise with fellow Japanese gymnast Kohei Uchimura and Korean PARK Eo Jin finishing second and third respectively. Kohei Kameyama won the Pommel Horse title over compatriot Ryohei Kato with Great Britain's Daniel Keatings finishing with a bronze medal. Brazil's Arthur Nabarrete Zanetti outclassed the field on the Still Rings. Koji Yamamuro of Japan and Marcel Nguyen of Germany rounded out the top three. Vietnam's PHAN Thi Ha Thanh won the Vault title over Mai Murakami of Japan with fellow Vietnamese gymnast DO Thi van Anh finishing in third. Canadian Victoria Moors won the Uneven Bars title. Korea's HEO Seon Mi finished second with Wakana Inoue earning the bronze. Competition continues today with the remaining Events.

The 2013 Toyota International Gymnastics Competition will be held from the 14th to the 15th of December at the Sky Hall Toyota (Toyota City Gymnasium) in Toyota, Japan. This event features Men and Women's Artistic Gymnasts compete in Apparatus Finals (CIII) competition. On the Saturday, the 14th the event gets underway at 2.00pm (local time) and will feature Women's Vault and Uneven Bars and the Men's Floor Exercise, Pommel Horse and Still Rings. The second day will commence at 2.00pm and will see Women's Balance Beam and Floor Exercise and Men's Vault, Parallel Bars and Horizontal Bar. 

Gymnasts from nine nations will participate with the roster currently looking extremely exciting!! In a small Women's field, the standout names are Canadian Victoria Moors, Germany's Pia Tolle, Oksana Chusovitina of Uzbekistan, Hiu Ying Angel Wong of Hong Kong, Korean Seon Mi Heo, and Vietnam's PHAN Thi Ha Thanh. Not to mention Japan's own Mai Murakami, Asuka Teramoto, Natsumi Sasada and Yu Minobe.

In terms of the Men's field, names to watch out for are Brazil's Arthur Nabarrete Zanetti and Pericles Fouro da Silva, Canadians Kenneth Ikeda, Robert Watson and Zachary Clay; German's Andreas Toba and Marcel Nguyen; Daniel Keatings and Kristian Thomas of Great Britain; Hong Kong's Kiu Chung Ng, Korea's KIM Hee Hoon and BAE Ga Ram; and Vietnam's PHAM Phuoc Hung, DANG Nam and HOANG Cuong. Standout routines will also be performed by Japan's own Kohei Uchimura, Ryohei Kato, Koji Yamamuro, Kohei Kameyama and Kenzo Shirai.

The 2013 Glasgow World Cup is underway at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow, Scotland. Solid routine for Andrey Likhovitskiy. Massive roar for Daniel Purvis. No major mistakes for him and a very great start to his competition. Another great routine from Spain's Fabian Gonzalez Vidal. Think he was a bit low in some of his landings. I love John Orozco's flairs sequence in his routine. Solid performance, but was his score too low? He looked surprised. Sam Oldham is definitely a firecracker and a great young talent for Great Britain. Very low on his final pass and has to take a large step forward. After the first rotation, Daniel Purvis leads over Ukrainian Oleg Verniaiev. With Gonzalez Vidal and Sam Oldham tied for third. Poor John, he's off on what is usually a strong event for him. His whole rhythm seemed a bit off today earlier in the routine. Love Fabian Gonzalez's personality - he always seems to be smiling. Wow Oleg Verniaiev also comes off the Pommel Horse, and was a bit wild in the dismount. And after two rotations Daniel Purvis leads with Andrey Likhovitskiy and Masayoshi Yamamoto rounding out the top three. Phenomenal Rings routine for Verniaiev. At the halfway mark, Purvis leads over Likhovitskiy and Verniaiev who are tied for second. Oldham's Pommel Horse score has been increased by 0.1. Hop back on the landing for Toba but a solid vault. Huge jump forward for Gonzalez on the Shewfelt. Step off to the side and off the mat on the landing for Yamamoto. Solid vault for Likhovitskiy. Massive vault from Verniaiev!! With two rotations to go, Purvis leads over Oleg Verniaiev and Andrey Likhovitskiy. Solid routine for Toba on the Parallel Bars. Phenomenal routine for Orozco!! Verniaiev starts his routine on the Parallel Bars and jumps off due to a problem with the settings of the apparatus. And it looks as though he gets to restart his entire routine again. Heading into the final rotation, Verniaiev leads over Purvis and Likhovitskiy. Fall for Toba to start the final rotation and lands on his knees on the dismount. Tremendous routine for Oldham. However it was Oleg Verniaiev who pulled out a great routine on the Horizontal Bar, who claimed the victory in Glasgow. Daniel Purvis finished second, followed by Andrey Likhovitskiy whose Horizontal Bar routine was a standout performance.

And here come the Women. Teramoto is wearing a very stunning half-sleeved leotard, love the sparkles. Vanessa Ferrari - love, love, love her leo - red and black with white diamantes... very elegant. Ruby Harrold wears white sleeved, blue bodied leo with yellow patterning across front with diamantes. My housemate says it looks like something that we would see a Ukrainian gymnast wear. I like it though! Roxana Popa Nedelcu wears another elegant looking leotard. Carlotta Ferlito wears another elegant but busy looking leotard.... I like it! Larisa Andreea Iordache wears the stunning blue leotard she wore in Stuttgart. Our first look at Raer Theaker! She wears a lovely version of the patriotic leotard that I so adore. It's unique. Elizabeth Price looks lovely in purple. Oh wow, a stumble back for Price on the landing. After the first rotation, Iordache leads over Teramoto with Price sitting in third. Theaker comes off the Bars, but a solid routine otherwise. Ruby Harrold also comes off on the low bar. Massive hop back on the landing for Ferlito and a big save on the transition to the low bar. Solid routine for Ferrari! Superb routine from Price!! And at the halfway mark for the Women, Iordache has a 0.1 point lead over Ebee with Teramoto in third. A few bobbles for Raer but a solid routine. A few bobbles for Harrold but she managed to stay on. Fall for Ferlito on her acro series and a couple of bobbles throughout. Solid routine from Popa Nedelcu. Solid routine from Vanessa. Asuka started off the routine strong, loved her turn sequence but came off on her acro series. Solid routine from Elizabeth. I love Ebee's gloves!! Oh wow Larisa's foot misses the beam on the round-off full twist and she comes off. Headed into the final rotation, Iordache leads over Price and Ferrari. Solid routine to finish for Raer. Nice finish for Ruby, just a couple of steps out of bounds. There were some standout routines on the Floor to finish the competition but Larisa Andreea Iordache claimed victory over Ebee with Vanessa Ferrari picking up the bronze.

The Glasgow World Cup is set to be held on the 7th of December at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow, Scotland. The competition will get underway from 1.00pm to 4.30pm (Glasgow Local Time). Ukrainian Oleg Verniaiev and American Elizabeth Price will be hoping to continue to build on the success they had by winning the All Around titles at the Stuttgart World Cup. Price won the title in Glasgow last year, whilst Great Britain's own Daniel Purvis will be hoping to recapture the title he won back in 2011. Six Men in the field competed in Stuttgart World Cup event, whilst Sam Oldham of Great Britain competed on all six events for the Great Britain team in the EnBW DTB-Pokal Team Challenge event whilst Japan's Masayoshi Yamamoto competed on the Pommel Horse, Still Rings, Vault and Horizontal for his team in the Team Challenge. 

Five Women in the field competed in Stuttgart, whilst Spain's Roxana Popa Nedelcu dominated at the 2013 Abierto de Gimnasia. Asuka Teramoto of Japan comes into this competition, as too does Raer Theaker of Great Britain who recently competed Uneven Bars as a Guest at the 2013 Northern European Gymnastics Championships. 

All in all it should be a fantastic competition!!

WOMEN'S ARTISTIC GYMNASTICS:

Venezuelan Michelle Steffanie Sanchez Salazar dominated the Rhythmic Gymnastics competition which was held at the 2013 Juegos Bolivarianos in Trujillo, Peru from the 27th to the 29th of November. Sanchez Salazar earned all five gold medals on offer, taking out the All Around, Ball, Ribbon, Clubs and Hoop finals. Fellow Venezuelan Grisbel Andreina Lopez Ortega won the silver medal in the All Around, with Guatemalan Linda Esperanza Sandoval Maldonado finishing in third place. Ecuador's Geraldine Melissa Perez Quito won the silver medal with the Ball with Venezuela's Damelis Melissa Valero Flores earning the bronze. Sandoval Maldonado picked up second place with the Hoop with Maria Del Pilar Martinez Andrade of Venezuela earning third place. Lopez Ortega also picked up second place with the Clubs with Sandoval Maldonado finishing in third, whilst with the Ribbon, Linda Esperanza Sandoval Maldonado and Geraldine Melissa Perez Quito finished second and third respectively.

The Chinese Women earned the 2013 EnBW DTB-Pokal Team Challenge honors on the 1st of December at the Porsche-Arena by a massive 1.7 points. Russia finished second with Germany winning the bronze. The Switzerland team finished in fourth. China's TAN Jiaxin top scored on the Vault whilst Germany's Sophie Scheder and Russian Aliya Mustafina dominated on the Uneven Bars and Balance Beam respectively. Kim Bui of Germany once again outshone the field on the Floor Exercise.

TEAM RESULTS:

Ukrainian sensational Oleg Verniaiev dominated on the Pommel Horse, Still Rings and Parallel Bars to take the 2013 EnBW DTB-Pokal World Cup Title on Sunday at the Porsche Arena in Stuttgart, Germany. Germany's own Fabian Hambuechen finished in second place; 1.901 points behind Verniaiev, whilst Great Britain's Daniel Purvis won the bronze medal. Purvis earned the top mark on the Floor Exercise, with Hambuechen and Verniaiev tying for the top score on the Vault. Hambuechen also outclassed the field on the Horizontal Bar, scoring a massive 15.966.

MEN'S ALL AROUND RESULTS:

After the first day of competition at the third Abierto Mexicano de Gimnasia at the Fairmont Acapulco Princess in Mexico, Peyton Ernst of the United States of America and Colombian Jossimar Calvo Orlando Moreno lead the Women's and Men's All Around standings respectively. Spain's Roxana Popa Nedelcu had a fantastic second day of competition to take out the Women's title. Maggie Nichols and Peyton Ernst, both of the United States of America finished second and third respectively. Jossimar Orlando Calvo Moreno maintained his lead to win the Men's title, with Russia's Nikita Ignatyev finishing in second and Japan's Koji Uematsu in third. Oksana Chusovitina of Uzbekistan and Koji Uematsu of Japan won the Pairs Competition over Karla Amaranta Torres Nunez of Mexico and Calvo Moreno. Ernst and Ruben Lopez finished in third.

The Chinese team of LIN Chaopan, CHENG Ran, DENG Shudi and LIU Rongbing won the 2013 EnBW DTB-Pokal Team Challenge which was contested last night (30th November) in the Porsche-Arena in Stuttgart, Germany. Finishing 1.25 points behind them in second place was the Japanese contingent with Great Britain taking out the bronze medal over Germany. China's DENG Shudi top scored on the Floor Exercise whilst Great Britain's Daniel Keatings was the top scorer on the Pommel Horse. Germany's own Marcel Nguyen and Japan's Jumpei Oka achieved top marks on the Still Rings and Vault respectively. LIN Chaopan and Keatings were joint high scorers on the Parallel Bars whilst LIU Rongbing outclassed the field on the Horizontal Bar. 

Competition at the Porsche-Arena continues on the 1st December with the Men's World Cup competition and the Women's Team Challenge Final.

After the Vault rotation, American Elizabeth Price leads from Switzerland's Giulia Steingruber and Romanian Larisa Andreea Iordache at the 2013 Stuttgart World Cup at the Porsche-Arena in Germany. Phenomenal Uneven Bars routine from Great Britain's Ruby Harrold. Seems like Briannah Tsang had a rough time of it on the Uneven Bars. At the halfway point, Price maintains the lead over Giulia Steingruber. Harrold's efforts on the Uneven Bars moves her into third place with Iordache in fourth. Solid Beam routine for Iordache. There are some stunning leotards in use today! Seems Beam is a rough rotation for most gymnasts so far. Harrold's leotard keeps with the patriotic feel we've come to expect from the country's leotards but is very elegant. Purple leotard with patterning and diamantes for Seitz - wasn't what I was expecting but I kind of like it!! Iordache looks stunning in an elegant royal? blue leotard with patterning on the front. Price maintains the lead going into the final rotation with Iordache moving into second with Steingruber in third. On a different note - love Ebee's leotard! There was a challenge to Iordache's Beam score which saw her score on the apparatus rise from 14.766 to 15.166. And it is official, the winner of the Women's All Around at the 2013 EnBW DTB-Pokal World Cup competition is ELIZABETH PRICE!! Iordache finishes in second with Italy's Vanessa Ferrari taking out the bronze! Well done to all!

Qualifications were contested yesterday at the 2013 EnBW DTB-Pokal Team Challenge at the Porsche-Arena in Stuttgart, Germany. China topped the Women's Qualification by 0.5 from the German team. Russia and Switzerland rounded our the top four and will have the opportunity to compete in the Team Challenge final which for the women will be contested on the 1st of December starting at 4.00pm (local time). China's YAO Jinnan top scored on the Vault and Uneven Bars, whilst Russian starlet earned top marks on the Balance Beam. Germany's own Kim Bui was the high scorer on the Floor Exercise.

The Men's team from Japan topped the Men's Qualification with China and Germany rounding out the top three to move onto today's final. Joining these three will be the team from Great Britain. Japan's Jumpei Oka was the top scorer on the Floor Exercise whilst Ukraine's Oleg Verniaiev was the top scorer on the Pommel Horse. Germany's Marcel Nguyen earned the top marks on the Still Rings and Parallel Bars with China's CHENG Ran earning the top score on the Vault. American Paul Ruggeri and Japan's Masayoshi Yamamoto tying for the high mark on the Horizontal Bar. The Men's Team Challenge Final will be contested today commencing at 3.00pm (Stuttgart local time).

The 2013 Northern European Artistic Gymnastics Championships were contested at the City of Lisburn Salto National Gymnastics Center on the 23rd and 24th of November. The Women's Team from Wales consisting of Elizabeth Beddoe, Georgina Hockenhull, Jessica Hogg, Rebecca Moore and Rhyannon Jones triumphed over the teams from Scotland (Amy Regan, Cara Kennedy, Carly Smith, Emma White and Erin McLachlan) and Northern Ireland (Casey Bell, Emma Gorman, India McPeak, Nicole Mawhinney and Sarah Beck). Hockenhull and Regan were the joint winners of the All Around title with Elizabeth Beddoe finishing 1.5 points behind the gold medalists to take the bronze medal. Regan added two more titles, garnering the Vault and Floor Exercise titles. Northern Ireland's Casey Bell finished second on the Vault, with Scotland's Erin McLachlan rounding out the top three. Bell tied with Finland's Anna Erika Pakkala for the Uneven Bars with Emma White of Scotland taking out the bronze medal, whilst on the Balance Beam, Scotland's Erin McLachlan topped Regan and Norway's Martine Skregelid for the honors. McLachlan and Bell finished second and third respectively on the Floor Exercise. 

The team from Finland, consisting of Heikki Niva, Juho Kanerva, Karl Oskar Kirmes, Markku Vahtila and Tomi Tuuha triumphed by a massive three points to take the Men's Team title. The Scottish contingent (Andrew Mackie, Daniel Iley, Daniel Keatings, Liam Davie and Tom Barnes) held off Norway (Stian Skjerahaug, Haakon Andreassen, Lars Jorgen Fjeld, Nikolay Nilsen Ronbeck and Steffen Kristensen) by a further 3.65 points. Skjerahaug picked up the All Around honors by 0.75 of a point over Finland's Karl Oskar Kirmes with Welshman Clinton Purnell finishing in third. Ireland's Christopher O'Connor won the Floor Exercise honors over Purnell and Kirmes, whilst on the Pommel Horse, Juho Kanerva triumphed with Keatings and Skjerahaug rounding out the top three. Markku Vahtila dominated on the Still Rings with Clinton Purnell of Wales and Norway's Lars Jorgen Fjeld finishing second and third respectively. Tomi Tuhha won the Vault title with Andreassen and Ossur Debes Eiriksfoss of the Faroe Islands tying for second place. Stian Skjerahaug won the Parallel Bars honors over Niva and Grant Gardiner of Wales whilst Liam Davie won the Horizontal Bar title. Sweden's Pontus Kallanvaara and Skjerahaug rounded out the top three.

The Czech Republic pairing of Jana Sikulova and Martin Konecny triumphed at the 2013 Sokol Grand Prix de Gymnastique which was held on the 23rd of November in Brno, Czech Republic. The Ukrainian pair of Olena Vasylieva and Maksym Semiankiv finished second with Dorina Boczogo (HUN) and Filip Ude (CRO) combining to finish third.

After the first round, Vasylieva/Semiankiv were ranking first over Boczogo/Ude with Sikulova/Konecny sitting in third. After the top eight teams moved onto the Semi-Final, Vasylieva and Semiankiv remained on top with Austrians Elisa Haemmerle and Michael Fussenegger moving into second with Sikulova/Konecny in third. Martin Konecny produced an exceptional routine on the Horizontal Bar (arguably one of his best events) to seal the title for himself and Jana Sikulova.

The 3rd Abierto Mexicano de Gimnasia is set to take place from the 28th to the 30th of November at The Fairmont Acapulco Princess. This competition sees both Men and Women's Artistic Gymnastics compete in an All Around competition which is held over the course of two days. Additional prizes are awarded to Mixed Teams (made up of one MAG and one WAG gymnast) with the teams being announced at the press conference which is set to be held on the 27th of November. Gymnasts from the United States of America, China, Romania, Russia, Brazil, Mexico, Japan, Italy, Colombia, Spain, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Canada are set to compete.

Individuals and Groups are set to participate in the Rhythmic Gymnastics competition at the 2013 Juegos Bolivarianos in Peru. Rhythmic Gymnastics will be contested from the 27th to the 29th of November, with the Individual Competition seeing gymnasts from Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala and Venezuela fight for the honors. 

Bolivia's Marlen Augusta Lorberg Lijeron will be one to watch, She finished 13th in the All Around at the 2012 South American Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, whilst not a favorite for a gold medal she definitely has the potential to reach the Finals. Two genuine medal contenders will be Chile's Valentina Andrea Castro Zumaran and Valeska Lissette Gonzalez Olivares. They finished 91st and 90th respectively in the All Around at the 2013 World Championships, with Valeska finishing 7th in the All Around at the South American Rhythmic Championships last year. Ecuador's Geraldine Melissa Perez Quito is one of the country's rising stars and should challenge the more experienced gymnasts for a medal. Guatemala's Linda Esperanza Sandoval Maldonado finished 87th at the recent World Championships and should be aiming for a medal in Peru. Venezuela is sending the four gymnasts who triumphed at the 2012 South American Championships. Grisbel Lopez Ortega finished 5th in the All Around at that competition and also finished fourth with the Ball and fifth with both the Clubs and Hoop. Maria Del Pilar Martinez Andrade only competed with Clubs and Ribbon at the South American Championships last year, qualifying and finishing sixth with the Ribbon. Michelle Steffanie Sanchez Salazar finished a formidable 67th All Around at this year's World Championships and was fourth All Around as well as with the Hoop and Ribbon and sixth with the Ball and Clubs at the 2012 South American Champs. Finally, Damelis Melissa Valero Flores only competed with the Ball and Hoop at the South American Champs and is coming off a solid showing at the 2013 Juegos Nacionales Juveniles in Venezuela. 

INDIVIDUAL PARTICIPANTS:

The Artistic Gymnastics competition at the 2013 Juegos Bolivarianos in Peru has concluded with the Event Finals. Peru's own Sandra Collantes de Riglos won the Vault title over Gomez Porras and Panama's Isabella Amado Medrano. Lopez won the Uneven Bars honors over Ana Sofia Gomez Porras and compatriot Ivet Jose Rojas Galean. Gomez Porras narrowly won the Balance Beam honors over Jessica Lopez with Panama's Isabella Amado Medrano taking out the bronze medal. The Floor Exercise Final saw Ana Sofia Gomez Porras top Jessica Lopez with Collantes de Riglos picking up the bronze medal.

Colombian Jossimar Orlando Calvo Moreno won the Floor Exercise title with Guatemala's Jorge Alfredo Vega Lopez ending in second and Chile's Felipe Andres Pina Valenzuela finishing with the bronze medal. Calvo Moreno also earned the Pommel Horse title over compatriot Jorge Hugo Giraldo Lopez with Venezuela's Jose Luis Fuentes Bustamante and Adickxon Gabriel Trejo Basalo tying for the bronze. Chile's Juan Francisco Raffo de la Jara dominated on the Still Rings with Venezuelan stalwart Regulo Carmona and Calvo Moreno finishing second and third respectively. Audrys Nin Reyes of the Dominican Republic earned the gold medal on the Vault with Jossimar Orlando Calvo Moreno and Guatemala's Jorge Alfredo Vega Lopez earning the silver and bronze respectively. On the Parallel Bars, Jossimar Calvo Moreno and Jorge Hugo Giraldo Lopez finished one-two with Venezuela's Adickxon Gabriel Trejo Basalo finishing in third. While on the Horizontal Bar, Fuentes Bustamante topped Colombian Jorge Hugo Giraldo Lopez and Audrys Nin Reyes.

The Sokol Grand Prix de Gymnastique takes place on the 23rd of November with competition getting underway at the Sportovni Hall at 4.30pm (Brno local time). Competing as "couples" the competition is divided into three rounds. All couples compete in the first round with the gymnasts each competing on two apparatuses each. After the conclusion of the round, the eight teams with the highest combined scores move on to the next round, where each gymnast will compete on a third apparatus. The results from the first round do not carry forward. At the end of this second round, the top four ranked teams move onto the Final. In this Final, each gymnast of the pairing competes on one event - the Women are allowed to pick which of the four apparatuses they will compete on, whilst the fourth apparatus for the Men is to be one they have yet to compete on during the day. Six gymnasts in the field for this year competed last year - a competition that was won by Ukrainians Maksym Semiankiv and Mariya Livchikova.
