Results from Day 1 Quals in Baku

The first day of qualifications were held on the 19th of February at the 2016 AGF Trophy World Challenge Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan. Uzbekistan stalwart Oksana Chusovitina outclassed the field on the Vault topping Slovenia's Tjasa Kysselef and Brazil's Daniele Matias Hypolito. Germany's Lina Philipp made her World Challenge Cup debut earning the top mark on the Uneven Bars with her higher execution score seeing her rank higher than Brazil's Flavia Lopes Saraiva despite earning the same score. Matias Hypolito has qualified to the final in third place. Israel's Artem Dolgopyat topped the Floor Exercise qualification over Azerbaijan's own Petro Pakhnyuk. Japan's Kenzo Shirai qualified in third place after landing out of bounds. Japan's Tomomasa Hasegawa topped the Pommel Horse over Maxime Gentges of Belgium and Norway's Stian Skjerahaug. Turkey's Ibrahim Colak has advanced to the final of the Still Rings over Hasegawa and Azerbaijan's own Oleg Stepko. Qualifications continue on the 20th.
