Gymmin' Miel!

Luxembourg's Sascha Palgen took out the Floor Exercise title over team mate Vladimir Klimenko and Iceland's Robert Kristmannsson. Klimenko and Monaco's Julien Gobaux both took out two titles each, with Klimenko winning the honors on the Pommel Horse and Horizontal Bar. Gobaux earned second place on the Pommel Horse with Iceland's Olafur Gardar Gunnarsson finishing in third, whilst on the Horizontal Bar, it was Gobaux and Cyprus' Panagiotis Aristotelous. Gobaux topped the fields on the Vault and Parallel Bars. Klimenko and Monaco's Kevin Crovetto rounded out the top three on the Vault, with Palgen and Klimenko finishing second and third on the Parallel Bars respectively. Cyprus Still Rings master Irodotos Georgallas topped Sascha Palgen and Georgios Spanos (Cyprus) for the honors. 

Iceland's Dominiqua Belanyi earned two titles including a runaway victory on the Uneven Bars. Fellow Iceland gymnast Norma Dogg Robertsdottir won the Vault honors over Rafaella Zannettou of Cyprus and Hildur Olafsdottir of Iceland. Luxembourg Junior Christelle Timis and Thelma Rut Hermannsdottir of Iceland were second and third respectively on the Uneven Bars, whilst on the Balance Beam, Luxembourg's Aline Bernar triumphed over Malta's Junior Suzanne Buttigieg. Iceland's Norma Dogg Robertsdottir and Dominiqua Belanyi tied for third. Belanyi also earned the Floor Exercise title with Lefki Louka of Cyprus and Bernar finishing second and third respectively.

The Men's team from Monaco consisting of Julien Gobaux, Kevin Crovetto, Frederic Unternaehr, Benjamin Niel and Junior Lilian Piotte took out the Team Title on the first day of Gymnastics competition at the Games of the Small States of Europe in Luxembourg. Cyprus finished in second with Iceland earning the bronze medal. The team from Monaco earned the highest total on the Vault, Parallel Bars and Horizontal Bar, with Cyprus topping on the Still Rings and Luxembourg topping the Floor Exercise and Pommel Horse combined totals. Julien Gobaux earned the top marks on the Vault, Parallel Bars and Horizontal Bar to the way to earning the All Around title. Luxembourg's Vladimir Klimenko, finished second in the All Around with  team mate Sascha Palgen taking out third place. Klimenko, Palgen and Irodotos Georgallas (Cyprus) topped the Floor Exercise, Pommel Horse and Still Rings qualifications respectively. 

The Women's team from Iceland consisting of Dominiqua Alma Belanyi, Thelma Rut Hermannsdottir, Norma Dogg Robertsdottir, Johanna Rakel Jonasdottir and Hildur Olafsdottir won the Gold medal in the team competition over Luxembourg and Cyprus. The group from Iceland earned the high score on the Vault, Uneven Bars and Balance Beam with Cyprus earning the top mark on the Floor Exercise. Belanyi earned the high score on the Uneven Bars on the way to winning the All Around title. Luxembourg's Aline Bernar finished in second with Hermannsdottir in third. Norma Dogg Robertsdottir earned the top mark on the Vault and Balance Beam, whilst Cyprus' Rafaella Zannettou achieved the high score on the Floor Exercise.

Competition continues in Luxembourg on the 30/5/2013 with the Event Finals.

The 2013 Games of the Small States of Europe will be taking place from the 27th of May until the 1st of June. The 15th edition will be held in Luxembourg and will see ten different sport divisions contested. These are: Athletics, Basketball, Cycling, Gymnastics, Judo, Swimming, Tennis, Table Tennis, Shooting, Volleyball and Beach Volleyball. Gymnastics will feature Men and Women's Artistic Gymnastics and will be held at the Hall Belair with the Men's and Women's All Around competitions taking place on Tuesday, 28th May and the Event Finals occurring on Thursday, the 30th of May.
