Gymmin' Miel!

Central Michigan University came out tops by a massive 6.9 points over the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on Friday night at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire quad meet at the McPhee Center. Winona State University finished fourth. Central Michigan Freshman Kasey Janowicz won the All Around over Winona State Sophomore Eboni Jackson who was making her collegiate Gymnastics debut. UW-Whitewater Sophomore Chloe Rehberg won the Vault over Janowicz and CMU Junior Rachel  Carr. Making their collegiate debuts were UW-Eau Claire's Clare Mascia, Hannah Lewis and Lauralynn Anderson; UW-Whitewater's Lisa O'Donnell, Destiny Patrick, and Franchesca Hutton and Winona State's Alyssa Carroll, Natalie Koehler, and Miranda Saathoff. CMU Seniors Karlee Teet and Taylor Bolender won the Uneven Bars and Balance Beam titles respectively, whilst Sophomore Katy Clements won the Balance Beam in her second collegiate meet.

Winona State University hosted Hamline University at the McCown Gymnasium this evening. I had the pleasure of watching all of Winona State's routines via the live event coverage on the Warrior Sports Network and it was lovely to see such camaraderie and happiness on the screen. Well done girls! My personal standout performance was Sophomore Brooke Hiestand's Floor routine which saw her tie for Floor Exercise title with Hamline Senior Courtney Benson. Unfortunately Hamline recorded a narrow victory over the Warriors with Benson taking out the All Around, Vault and Balance Beam honors. Winona State's Junior Danielle Thenell won the Uneven Bars title.

The Winona State University Warriors hosted their Think Pink Meet on Thursday night in the McCown Gymnasium against the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Winona State was too good for the UW-Oshkosh team, taking the team title and all the Individual honors that were on offer. Sophomore Jade Donaldson earned the high score on Vault and also picked up the All Around title. Junior Brooke Baures won the Uneven Bars and Balance Beam honors with Freshman Veronica Peterson taking out the honors on the Floor Exercise. Junior Leane Blais, Sophomores Elizabeth Kiel and Krystal Walker and Freshman Taylor Ennocenti were standout performers for UW-Oshkosh.
