The Ghent World Cup is set to be the final FIG World Cup before the Olympic Games in London and is the second last Challenger Cup for 2012. The Despite being the final event before the Olympics this competition boasts a very exciting roster. For the Women, look out for the following gymnasts: Argentina's Valeria Pereyra, Merlina Galera and Ailene Valente; Belgium's Gaelle Mys, Lisa Verschueren and Terri Grand'ry (who will be competing Balance Beam as a Hors Concour participant); Nastassia Marachkouskaya and Volha Makhautsova of Belarus; the Brazilians; and cannot wait to see how the up-and-coming Canadians (Paraskevi Babalis, Sabrina Tomassini and Stefanie Merkle) and the Chilean ladies go. Chile's Enrique Tomas Gonzalez Sepulveda, the Chinese, Croatians, Martin Konecny (CZE); Egypt's Mohamed Sherif El Saharty; Great Britain's Daniel Keatings and Sam Oldham; Hungary's Vid Hidvegi; the Irish competitors, Kazakhstan's Viktor Kocherin and Stanislav Valiyev; Dmitrijs Trefilovs of Latvia; Mexico's Daniel Corral Barron and Luis Sosa Abarca; the Dutchmen, Polish superstars and the Puerto Rican men should be impressive. The participants from Romania, Slovenia, Switzerland, Slovakia and Ukraine should challenge for a medal. Whilst I am excited to see Tunisia's Wadji Bouallegue, Uzbekistan's Anton Fokin and the Vietnamese gymnasts in action! Good luck to all!!
