Day One Event Finals at 2015 SEA Games

11:11 PM

Day One of Event Finals at the 2015 28th SEA (Southeast Asian) Games see the Men's Floor Exercise, Pommel Horse and Still Rings Event Finals with the Women's Vault and Uneven Bars Finals also being contested. Not as big a crowd as what there was yesterday. Reyland Capellan is almost head and shoulders shorter than his fellow competitors! They have divided it so that the first four gymnasts warm up on the apparatus and then compete followed by a warm up on the apparatus for the next four gymnasts. Solid routine from Hoe Wah Toon to begin. Capellan is a very fast worker on the Floor Exercise. Another solid routine, this time from Thailand's Jamorn Prommanee. Good routine from PHAM Phuoc Hung - a little low on his second last past and a bobble on the landing of his final pass. Some big tumbling passes from LE Thanh Tung but he couldn't control the landing on a couple of them. Great routine from Rafael Iii Ablaza! And the gold goes to Philippines' Reyland Capellan with Singapore's Hoe Wah Toon and PHAM Phuoc Hung of Vietnam earning the silver and bronze respectively.

PHAN Thi Ha Thanh is wearing the black, white and gold (deep) leotard that she has worn in competition previously. Rifda Irfanalutfi is wearing a lovely blue leotard with diamantes. TAN Ing Yueh is wearing a lovely purple leotard with diamantes whilst Farah Ann Abdul Hadi is wearing a lovely red leotard with white sleeves which has red stripes down the side. I actually like Kanyanat Boontoeng's leotard - one white sleeve, a predominately blue body with the other sleeve red and white patterning (swirls) on the front with diamantes. DINH Phuong Thanh loses his momentum during his travelling and comes off the horse. Solid Vaults from PHAN Thi Ha Thanh and Farah Ann Abdul Hadi. Awesome routine from Gabriel Gan Zi Jie. Rifda irfanalutfi lands on her hands and feet on her second vault. Lovely leotard for DO Thi Van Anh - mesh sleeved with blue bottom half and aqua and pink swirls at the top. Jamorn Prommanee, top in qualification comes off the horse. Sleeveless leotard with what looks like a feather coming up across from the bottom. PHAN Thi Ha Thanh takes out the Vault title over Tan Ing Yueh and Farah Ann Abdul Hadi with Thailand's Rartchawat Kaewpanya winning the Pommel Horse title. Singapore's Gabriel Gan Zi Jie and Vietnam's LE Thanh Tung were second and third.

Janessa Dai Min Yi wears a lovely red leotard with diamantes and yellow patterning on the collar. Comes to a stop at the top of the bars. Red leo with white sleeves and yellow flame pattern for Ashly Lau Wei-Ning. Solid routine. Praewpraw Doungchan fall on her dismount. PHAN Thi Thanh falls on her transition to low bar. Farah Ann Abdul Hadi has a big fall on her release move but finishes strongly. Love Ava's leotard. Solid routine just a couple of steps on the dismount. Tan Ing Yueh wins the Uneven Bars title over Ava Lorein Verdeflor of the Philippines with Farah Ann Abdul Hadi finishing in third. On the Still Rings, Vietnam's DANG Nam dominated the competition, taking the title over compatriot PHAM Phuoc Hung. Thailand's Weena Chokpaoumpai finished third.
