Brazil, Colombia Take Two Titles on First Day Event Finals

Brazil's Jade Fernandes Barbosa was triumph on the Vault on the first day of event finals in Santiago, Chile at the 2014 Juegos Suramericanos. Her team mate Isabelle Cristina Retamiro Cruz picked up the silver with the bronze medal being awarded to Chile's Makarena Daisy Pinto Adasme. Colombian Bibiana Maria Velez Alzate won the Uneven Bars title by 0.700 points over Fernandes Barbosa with Melba Yurany Avendano Romero earning the bronze. Chile's Enrique Tomas Gonzalez Sepulveda topped compatriot Juan Pablo Gonzalez Valenzuela for the Floor Exercise title with Colombian Jossimar Orlando Calvo Moreno rounding out the top three. Jhonny Alexander Munoz Perez of Colombia won the Pommel Horse title over Brazilians Pericles Fouro da Silva and Francisco Carlos Barretto Junior. Brazilian Still Rings superstar Arthur Nabarrete Zanetti won the title on his pet event with Argentina's Federico Molinari and Juan Francisco Raffo de la Jara of Chile rounding out the top three. Brazil's Lucas De Souza Bitencourt replaced team mate Sergio Yoshio Sasaki Junior in the Still Rings final.
