Eastern Michigan University took out the team honors over Ball State University last night. It was Ball State's Senior Night as they paid recognition to Angie Hosbach, Kristin Vignola and Leah Wilson. No gymnasts competed in the All Around. Ball State Sophomore Denasiha Christian took out the Vault title whilst Hosbach scored a season best to take out the Uneven Bars honors. Junior Jessica Leko tied her season-best on the Balance Beam to earn the top mark on the event. Eastern Michigan Redshirted Juniors Chantelle Loehner and Kaylee Meyers tied for the Floor Exercise title.

It was Think Pink night last night as Kent State University recorded an away win against Ball State University. Ball State had a fantastic night despite the loss recording season high totals on the Uneven Bars, Balance Beam and Floor Exercise. Kent State Senior Marie Case won the titles on the All Around, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam and Floor Exercise (tied with Ball State Sophomore Denasiha Christian). Kent State Junior Chelsea Drooger won the Vault title.

The Western Michigan University Gymnastics team earned Head Coach Penny Jernigan her first career victory over Ball State University on Sunday. Western Michigan Sophomore Kayla Weber won the All Around whilst fellow Sophomore team mate Jessi Buis tied with Ball State Sophomore Brooke Evans for the Vault honors. WMU Freshman Jessie Peszek won the Uneven Bars title with Senior Lauren Bledsloe picking up the high score on the Floor Exercise. The Balance Beam honors went to Senior team mates from WMU Shelby MacDonald and Kelsey Turnquist.

Bowling Green State University won over Ball State University at the Irving Gym on Friday. Bowling Green Freshman Lauren Feely won the All Around title with Sophomore team mate Alyssa Nocella picking up the Uneven Bars title. Ball State Sophomore Denasiha Christian picked up the Floor Exercise honors and tied for the Vault title with fellow Ball State Sophomore Erin Patchey. Samantha Santos, a Junior on the Ball State team won the Balance Beam title.

Ball State Sophomore Erin Patchey earned the high score on the Vault. Jenna Bossle, a Senior on the Illinois State squad and Angela Durkac, a Sophomore on the Ball State team tied for the honors on the Uneven Bars. Central Michigan University and Western Michigan University shared in the 2013 Mid-American Conference Championships. This awards Central Michigan a share in their fourth consective Conference title. Kent State University finished in third. Kent State's Marie Case won the All Around title with team mate Rachel Guida earning the honors on the Uneven Bars. Western Michigan's Jessi Buis tied with Jamilah Ali of Bowling Green State University for the Vault title, whilst Alyssa Nocella (Bowling Green State) and Halle Moraw (Central Michigan) took out the Balance Beam and Floor Exercise titles respectively.

The first four meets of the first week of the NCAA Women's Gymnastics were contested last night. I spent the night at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center at the University of Florida, watching the Gators open the season with a commanding performance over Ball State University. It was a fantastic competition to mark the start of the season for the Gators with their gymnasts scooping all the titles on offer. Florida's Bridget Sloan impressed in the first meet of her collegiate career whilst Mackenzie Caquatto, Kytra Hunter and Randy Stageberg also impressed. Freshman Denaisha Christian of Ball State, had a great first meet, and I must say that it is great to see Brittney Emmons who is is in her fifth year of NCAA eligibility competing the All Around.

Louisiana State University also dominated their opener against North Carolina State at home in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. Sophomore Rheagan Courville of LSU took out the All Around honors as well as the Balance Beam and Floor Exercise honors, with team mate Sarie Morrison earning the Vault and Uneven Bars titles. Louisiana's Freshman Jessica Savona made a solid debut for the team tying for third on Vault and second on the Balance Beam and finishing third on the Floor Exercise. Junior Diahanna Ham was a standout performer for North Carolina State. 

The Cancun Classic saw the University of Michigan take out the team title with their highest team total since 2011. Brigham Young University finished second with Oregon State in third. Michigan's Joanna Sampson, Sachi Sugiyama and Katie Zurales went 1-2-3 in the All Around. Sampson picked up the Vault title, whilst Sugiyama, Sampson and Brigham Young Junior Raquel Willman tied for the honors on the Uneven Bars. Zurales picked up the Balance Beam title while Sugiyama also took out the Floor Exercise. Willman and fellow Junior Megan Bain were standout performers from Brigham Young, whilst for Oregon State University, Hailey Gaspar, Melanie Jones and Makayla Stambaugh were shining lights.

The NorCal Quad meet, held at The Event Center on the San Jose State University campus was won by Stanford University, with San Jose State finishing in second place with UC Davis beating out Sacramento State for third. Sacramento State Sophomore Kallilah McCartney won the All Around title over San Jose's Cami Guyer and Sacramento State Freshman Cassie Benning. Stanford Senior Nicole Dayton topped team mates Ivana Hong and Melissa Chuang for the Vault title, whilst on the Uneven Bars Stanford's Ashley Morgan tied with UC Davis' Michelle Ho for the title. Kristina Vaculik and Amanda Spinner both of Stanford tied for the Balance Beam honors, whilst San Jose State Junior Julia Greer took out the Floor title.
