Event Finals at the Northern Europeans

Sweden's Emma Larsson picked up two Gold medals on the final day of competition at the 2012 Northern European Artistic Gymnastics Championships. Larsson took out the Vault title over Scotland's Amy Regan and Welsh competitor Keira Brennan. Whilst on the Uneven Bars, Larsson triumphed by 0.250 over Angel Romaeo, with Ida Gustafsson of Sweden picking up the bronze medal. Welsh gymnast Jessica Hogg also picked up the remaining two Gold medals - Balance Beam and Floor Exercise. The silver medal on the Balance Beam was shared by Iceland's Tinna Odinsdottir and Georgina Hockenhull of Wales, whilst Romaeo picked up the silver medal on the Floor Exercise, with Sweden's Lovisa Estberg earning herself the bronze medal. Emma Lunn of Ireland was called up to the Floor Final with half an hour to go before the competition to replace Carly Smith of Scotland.

A different gymnast picked up each of the Men's Event Finals! Tomi Tuuha won the Floor Exercise honors with his compatriot Kasper Holopainen taking out the silver medal over Norway's Lars Jorgen Fjeld. All Around winner Helge Vammen of Denmark was the top on the Pommel Horse with Iceland's Olafur Gunnarsson and Finland's Markku Vahtila rounding out the top three. Vahtila was the standout performer on the Still Rings with Clinton Purnell of Wales and Tuuha coming second and third respectively. Purnell won the Vault honors over Tuuha and Carl Green of Sweden. Heikki Niva of Finland won the Parallel Bars Event Final over Norwegians Haakon Andreassen and Joachim Hanche-Olsen, who were the silver and bronze medalists respectively. Hanche-Olsen also won the Gold on Horizontal Bar with Scotland's Liam Davie winning the silver medal and Oskar Kirmes winning the bronze medal. Norwegian Lars Jorgen Fjeld replaced compatriot Lars Planke in the Vault Final, whilst in the Parallel Bars Final, the winner, Finland's Niva replaced compatriot Kasper Holopainen who had qualified ahead of Niva, whilst Scotland's Liam Davie replaced Lars Planke (NOR) in the Horizontal Bar final.
