Big Names Win on First Day of Finals in Slovenia

Canadian Elsabeth Black won the Women's Vault title over South African Kirsten and Vietnam's PHAN Thi Ha Thanh on the first day of event finals at the 46th Salamunov Memorial Challenge World Cup event. Czech Republic's Kristyna Palesova won the Uneven Bars honors with Hungary's Noemi Makra taking out the silver and Jana Sikulova, also of the Czech Republic earning the bronze. Greekman Eleftherios Kosmidis triumphed on the Floor Exercise with American Alexander Naddour and Canadian Scott Morgan rounding out the top three. Slovenia's own Saso Bertoncelj won the Pommel Horse title with Hungarian Zoltan Kallai and Naddour finishing second and third respectively. Eleftherios Petrounias of Greece dominated on the Still Rings with Finland's Markku Vahtila and Naddour rounding out the remaining medals.
